We have JUST ONE week left to get Virginia’s Governor to sign SB 1381. The Governor has had weeks in which to sign the Bill, and he has done nothing.
If it is not signed by the Governor by midnight March 29th, the Bill will EXPIRE! And THOUSANDS OF ANIMALS WILL BE KILLED, this year, next year, the year after that, etc.
Please FLOOD Governor McAuliffe’s office with calls telling him to save precious pets’ lives by SIGNING SB 1381. PHONE: 804 786 2211
THIS IS A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH.
Please spread the word, especially to every pet lover in Virginia.
Thank you for caring.

Recently, authorities in Hanoi intercepted thousands of live cats (three tons) that were illegally smuggled in from China for human consumption.
It is illegal to consume cats in Vietnam, however, their regulations also mandate that evidence from smuggling operations must be “destroyed”. On February 2, police forces notified us that “all cats have been buried”. It is unclear whether the cats were killed before being buried or not.
UPDATE – Vietnam authorities confirm that the cats were crushed to death with a dump truck before being buried.
Please PROTEST this savage destruction of life:

Even when they are not, when a mother is spayed, the kittens or puppies die from anoxia (oxygen deprivation)…

New Website Demonstrates the Myth of Pet Overpopulation by Highlighting Success
Whenever I post about the needless killing of animals in shelters—such as my post on Saturday which discussed the decision by leadership at the pound in Pima, AZ to no longer send pregnant animals to rescue but to kill the unborn puppies instead—invariably one of the most common responses by those who defend killing is to claim that the animals are better off dead because there are already too many animals and not enough homes and no one wants the animals anyway. Sadly, these excuses often come from people who claim to love animals, even though they proceed to ignore my pleas that they…
